    Abstract ( 1851 )   HTML ( 4 )   PDF(pc) (293KB) ( 1502 )   Save
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of matrix metalloproteinase- 7(MMP- 7) and c- myc protein in oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC). Methods Immunohistochemical EliVisionTM method was
used to detect the expression of MMP- 7 and c- myc in 54 cases which contain 49 oral squamous cell carcinoma and 5 normal oral mucosa. Results 1)The positive expression rates of MMP- 7 and c- myc in oral squamous cell
carcinoma were respectively 83.7% and 77.6%. 2)The expression of MMP - 7 was closely correlated with TNM stage, clinical grade, and lymph nodes metastasis of OSCC(P<0.05). 3)There were significant differences of the c- myc expression in different pathologic grade as well as there were whether lymph node metastasis or not(P <0.05). 4)The expression of MMP - 7 and c - myc in oral squamous cell carcinoma were positively correlated(P <0.05).
Conclusion Both MMP- 7 and c - myc express highly in oral squamous cell carcinoma, and have a synergistic effect on the occurrence and the development of oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Objective To observe the effect of overdose fluoride on the expression of amelogenin in rat mandibular incisor and to explore the probable mechanism of dental fluorosis. Methods Six Wistar rats were divided randomly into two groups. Animals were maintained in standard environmental conditions with free access to food and water(control group) or water added with 100 mg/L F(- experimental group). The rats were killed at the end of eighth week. Using realtime polymerase chain reaction(PCR) to observe the effect of overdose fluoride on the expression of amelogenin in rat mandibular incisor. Results The expressions of amelogenin in rat mandibular incisor were obviously inhibited in experimental group(P<0.05). Conclusion The overdose fluoride inhibits the secretion of amelogenin and leads to the abnormal development of enamel matrix.

As a key mediator of normal physiological angiogenesis, vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)has been regarded as an emancipator to plastic surgeon, and yet a misfortune to oncology surgeon, due to its singular biological effect. Therefore in some clinical cases, especially for some malignant tumor patients having endured radical surgery and being craving for a reconstructive surgery, VEGF plays a role full of paradoxes. To make a clinical balance, we should find a point to inhibit tumor cell from utilizing VEGF and make a permission to normal tissues to employ it.

Growth hormone(GH) is one of the most important postnatal regulators, which can promote the cell proliferation and differentiation in different tissue such as muscle, skeleton and cartilage. GH affects the odontogenesis and craniofacial structure development via following routes: GH can modulate the epithelial- mesenchymal interaction as well as the differentiation and mature of ameloblasts, dentinoblasts and cementoblasts, which leads formation of tooth hard tissue. GH plays an important role in modulating osteoclasts bone resorption, which influences the tooth eruption. GH regulates the differentiation of chondrocytes in condylar through insulin- like growth factor-1(IGF- 1). GH may affect intra- membranous and endochondral osteogenesis associated with the craniofacial structure development.

brittleness has limited their wide application in molars. In order to provide effective theoretical instruction for clinical applications, a three- dimensional finite element method can be used. Through modeling, calculating and analysis, the stress characterization of all ceramic crowns and bridges can be obtained. Based on this, their structures can be optimized, and fatigue life can be reasonably predicted through fracture mechanics method. This article presented a review on recent advances in research and application of all ceramic restorations by three- dimensional finite element method.

Titanium and titanium alloys are widely used as dental implant materials. But the environment of mouth is complicated. The influential factors such as food, toothpaste, gargarisma and different metal prosthesis will affect the oxide film of the surface of titanium and titanium alloys and affect the corrosion properties of the titanium and titanium alloys. Then they will affect the biocompatibility and function and lifetime of the dental implant, even lead to the failure of the implant. The article focused on the influential factors on the corrosion properties
    of titanium and titanium alloys.

Orthodontic technique has been applied in the area of implant esthetics. Hard tissue and soft tissue management in the implant site by utilizing orthodontic treatment before implant surgery can promote the heal and regeneration of the periimplant papilla. In this article, various preimplant orthodontic technique concerning esthetic reconstruction of periimplant papilla were reviewed.
