Abstract: Lymphoid enhancing factor- 1(LEF- 1)is a cell- type- specific transcription factor, which probably plays an important role in cellular proliferation and differentiation. LEF- 1 signaling mediates the epithelial- mesenchymal
interaction during tooth morphogenesis, it regulates the fate of the dental epithelial and the cranial neural crest cell (CNC)derived mesenchymal cells during tooth morphogenesis. This review summarized the effects of LEF- 1 on
the tooth development, epithelial cells activity, the differentiation of osteoblast and malignant tumor.
