Abstract: Monocyte chemoattractant protein- 1(MCP- 1), a member of the chemokine CC subfamily, could induce the chemotaxis and activation of monocytes and macrophagocytes, and then play an important role in the regulation of physiological, pathological and immunologic response processes. This review is to clarify the structure of MCP- 1 and the relationship between MCP- 1 and common oral diseases, such as pulpitis, periapical disease, periodontitis
and oral squamous cell cancer.
