Abstract: Preoperative orthodontic treatment is more and more important following the improvement of cleft lip and palate team approach all the time. It can decrease the difficulty of the surgery and increase the result of the operation. The category of appliances is various. In addition, their purposes and results are not the same completely to each other. In this article, we reviewed the development of the preoperative orthodontics for the infants with cleft lip and palate in recent years.
