Abstract: Tertiary dentinogenesis is a protective reaction caused by dentin- pulp complex to respond to surrounding pathological stimulus. According to the origin of tertiary dentin matrix, it may be subdivided into reactive dentin and reparative dentin. This review focused on the process of production of tertiary dentin matrix.
