Abstract: Study indicates that osteoprotegerin（OPG） is an important regulatory factor in bone metabolism. It has been warm spot recently. OPG receptor activator nualear factor - κB ligand（RANKL） and receptor activator nualear factor- κB（RANK） is a system to regulate osteoclastogenesis. Temporomandibular joint（TMJ） is very important to oromaxillo- facial region morphas and function. Bone and cartilage are its moity. This review is about the study of OPG- RANKL- RANK system in TMJ.
