    Abstract ( 1978 )   HTML ( 5 )   PDF(pc) (247KB) ( 682 )   Save
Objective To investigate the expression and the localization of the matrix metalloproteinase - 1(MMP - 1) and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase - 1(TIMP - 1)in root resorption tissue, and to elucidate the molecular changes and mechanism of root resorption induced by orthodontic force in order to establish a foundation for systemic study and prevention of root resorption in clinic. Methods Six experimental Chinese miniature pigs provided by Beijing Agricultural College were selected. Twelve mandibular deciduous lateral incisors of these six pigs were divided into four groups at random, and forces of 0, 0.98, 1.96, 2.94 N were put on each group respectively. The forces were exerted every two weeks. The animals were killed after forty- five days, and the specimens were made which were observed by light microscope. The cells in root resorpion tissue that produced MMP-1 or TIMP- 1 were identified using immunohistochemistry. Results The expression of MMP- 1 in root resorption
tissue in Group 0.98 N, Group 1.96 N and Group 2.94 N increased evidently compared with Group 0 N, and the expression of TIMP- 1 in root resorption tissue in Group 0.98 N and Group 1.96 N increased evidently compared
with Group 0 N. But the expression of TIMP- 1 in root resorption tissue in Group 2.94 N had no difference with Group 0 N. Conclusion MMP- 1 and TIMP- 1 participate in the normal physiological metabolization of extracellular
matrix and the normal remodeling of periodontal tissue during teeth movement on orthodontics treatment MMP-1 and TIMP- 1 play a significant role during root resorption.

Objective To study the effects of lip- arch with tip back bend and V bend to the Angle Ⅱ with overbite and high angle patients. Methods 20 patients with overbite and high angle were selected and treated with lip- arch. The lip- arch was ligatured on straight wire bracket wings. It generated the point- contact between the wire and the bracket, which was of benefit to opening the overbite. After opening the overbite, the square wire changed was ligatured in bracket slot to maintain the efficacy. Their cephalometry radiographs were measured and analyzed before and after treatment. Results The angle of ANB and distance of U1C- PP(mm), L1C-MP(mm), OB(mm)were statistically significant before and after treatment. But there was no difference in the U6- PP
(mm), L6-MP(mm)and FH-MP angle. Conclusion It suggest that lip- bow with tip back bend and V bend can effectively improve the deep overbite in class Ⅱ patients with high angle by controlling the anchorage.

Objective To investigate the role of hepatitis B virus X(HBX) protein in cell apoptosis. Methods Eukaryotic expression vector of HBX gene was constructed. Recombination vector mentioned above was transfected by Lipofectamine to Hela cell, Hepatocarcinoma cell(SMMC- 7721) and normal mouse fetal liver cell(FL). X protein(pX) expressed in these three cell type was detected by immunohistochemical method. The apoptosis in Hela- X cells was analyzed by flow cytometry and the terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated deoxyuridine triphosphate fluorescence nick end labeling(TUNEL)method. Results In three cell type, pX expressed. A stable pX- expression cell line was selected by G418. HBX protein could express in Hela cells in 20 passages. Oral malodor, also known as halitosis, is a widespread problem, which is mainly caused by volatile sulphur compound(VSC). VSC is produced by Gram- negative anaerobic bacteria. Oral malodor reduction may be obtained by a combination of chemotherapeutical and mechanical treatments. However, these modalities exhibit only temporary effects. And some undesirable side effects may occur when they are used in the oral cavity for long periods. Streptococcus salivarius is known to be normal flora in the mouth. They might have potential applications as adjuncts for both the prevention and treatment of oral malodour.

As a useful tooth- colored dental restorative material, resin composite is esthetic and convenient. However, it is weak in polymerization shrinkage, poor wear resistance and color changing. Polymerization shrinkage will induce gap between teeth and the filling resin composite, enamel cracks and cuspal movement, which account for restoration failure. Factors affecting the polymerization shrinkage stress include the composition of the resin composite,
cavity configuration and the clinical manipulation. Polymerization shrinkage stress should be reduced to increase the success rate of filling resin composite.

Fluorine is one of the most important microelement in human body, which has crucial functions during the development of our teeth and the caries prevention. Overtaken of the fluorine during the odontogenesis will cause dental fluorosis. The particular pathological feature of the dental fluorosis implied the influences of the fluorid in odontogenesis directly and indirectly. Researches showed that, fluorid can influence the mineralization process through different ways, including the secreted enamel extracellular matrix, proteins, multiple proteases,
ameloblasts and transmembrane transport of the inorganic ions. Excess uptake of the fluorid can decrease the amount of the enamel and dentin matrix proteins, including collagen and noncollagen proteins which may influence
their normal functions during mineralization. So, it is widely accepted now that, fluorid have multiple effects on teeth formation and development. This review aims to outline the effects of fluoride on the biological processes involved
in the formation of tooth tissues.

Stable retention is one of the most important factors in the use of fiber post and resin core system. Many scholars have researched into factors which might affect the retention of this system. This article reviews studies published recently about the retention of fiber post and resin core system.

Titanium and its alloys are used more and more widely in the field of dental clinic. But the corrosion of titanium and its alloys in the oral environment is still a concern that has to be solved. The corrosion behaviors are closely related to the change of oral bioenvironment and mastication. This article presents a research statue of corrosion of titanium and its alloys in the oral bioenviroment where the value of pH, fluoride, protein and the temperature change a lot, thus gives us a reference to improve the corrosion resistance of titanium and its
    alloys.

Osseointegrated dental implant has been widely used in clinics and we can find numerous researches about it. In recent years, another combination has attracted researchers′attention. That is periodontal ligament linking the implant and the bone. Researchers are finding how to promote sensory responses of the dental implants. This was a summary of the research development of this kind of bone- implant interface.

Occlusal plane(OP)is one of important factors which affect stomatognathic system. It is an important step to confirm a suitable OP when carrying out reconstruction and rehabilitation. This article reviewed the orientation and influencing factors of OP, the relationship between OP and stomatognathic system, as well as the relationship between OP and cervical spine.

The dentofacial morphology, deglutition pattern, the balance of masticatory muscles force and the mandibular movement are unique in the open bite patients. At present, no evidence shows that there are cause- effect
relationship or interaction between open bite and the temporomandibular joint disorder. This review is about the relationship between open bite and temporomandibular joint disorder in the dentofacial morphology, the pattern
of deglutition, the balance of masticatory muscles force as well as mandibular movement in the open bite patients.
