Research progress on management of infantile parotid gland hemangiomas

Abstract:

Infantile hemangioma is one of the most common childhood tumors, which has an attitude of involution. Discrepancy remains in the treatment of hemangiomas. Comparing to hemangiomas in other region, hemangiomas in the parotid region commonly have larger size and cause significant deformity in the facial area. Different management modatities have been proposed to the treatments of parotid hemangiomas, which include observation, medical（systemic use of steroids and interferon, topical injection of bleomycin） and surgical therapy. In this article, the curative effect and complications of these treatments are reviewed.
