Abstract:

As the use of antibiotics and immunosuppressive drugs has increased in recent years, the incidence of oral fungal infections has also gradually increased. Pathogens that frequently cause oral fungal infection include Candida, Cryptococcus, Aspergillus, Sporotrichum schenckii, Mucor, Geotrichum, Histoplasma capsulatum, Paracoccidioides brasiliensis, Blastomyces dermatitidis, and Phialophora. Hosts with immunodeficiency and chronic diseases may achieve strengthened oral nursing by avoiding invasive fungal infections and treatment with antifungal drugs. This study reviews research progress on pathogenic fungi as well as the causes, clinical manifestations, and diagnosis of oral cavity fungal infections.

Key words: oral, fungus, infection
