All-ceramic materials include glass-ceramics, glass-infiltrated ceramics, pure alumina core system and zirconia core system; and all-ceramic restoration methods include crown, veneer and ceramic-bonding restorations. Different match of materials and methods will lead to different treatment result. The most suitable match can help dentists lower the risk. For most vital teeth, the most suitable design is veneers or bonded-ceramic restorations; but for unvital anterior teeth, glass-ceramic is not suitable, and in most cases zirconia crown is the best choice, or in serious strained teeth glass-infiltrated ceramic could be used; in vital posterior teeth, zirconia crown is the most suitable treatment plan, whose retention force can be increased by assistant retention form like axis grooves or pin hole, and strength can be enhanced by high cervical rings or full-zirconia design.

Distraction osteogenesis has been becoming a mature technique in the maxillofacial plastic surgery, and distractor played an important role. In the present, most of the maxillofacial distractors are traditional distractors adjusted with screw. Along with the indications extending, the traditional distractors can’t meet the clinical requirements, so some new distractors are appearing now. This review aimed to introduce these distraction appliances classifiedly, which included automatic distractor, curvilinear distractor, bidirectional distractor, trifocal distractor and implanted distractor.

Compared to screw -retained restorations, cemented implant -retained restorations have been widely used due to esthetic, comfort and passive fit. To retrieve cemented restorations from implants is not easy for subsequent maintenance and treatment of complications such as peri-implant inflammation or food impaction. It is always a hot topic of retrieval, that is, how to remove cemented implant-retained restorations conveniently without damage. Two methods of removing cemented implant restorations have been reported in the literature, including removable mechanical components and choose proper cement. This review would briefly introduce the above two methods in clinical feasibility.

Nowadays, the replacement of missing teeth with endosseous implants for the rehabilitation of edentulous or partially edentulous patients has become a standard of care, and the ten-year success rate is up to 90%. However, dental implants fail occasionally. Available studies indicate that dental implants failure usually occurs in the early stage, and the risk of late failure increases for the patients with early failure. However, the impact factors on the incidence of implant early failure are not definite. A variety of factors may have a potential influence on the incidence of dental implant early failure, such as host factors, character of implants, clinicians, surgical technique and soon. Proper patient selection is a key issue in treatment planning, and analysis of host factors will guide clinical practice. This review focused on the effect of host factors on implant early failure.
