牙周病与阿尔兹海默症的关系

Correlation between periodontal diseases and Alzheimer’s disease

摘要: 近年来,阿尔兹海默症(AD)患者人数随年龄呈指数式递增,且引发AD的病因至今不明确。多数研究曾表明,AD的发生与年龄老化、遗传因素、炎症反应、氧化应激等多种因素相关。最新研究证实牙周病已是引发多种系统性疾病高危险因素之一,同时有越来越多证据证实牙周病与AD发病存在密切的相关性。牙周病通过产生炎性因子和免疫反应的机制引发AD。本文就牙周病与AD发生相关性及其机制的研究作一综述。

Abstract: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a chronic, progressive and irreversible neurodegenerative disease. The prevalence of AD increases exponentially with age. Although the pathophysiologic mechanism is not fully understood, inflammation has been confirmedto play a critical role in the pathogenesis of AD. Chronic periodontitisis a chronic immuno-inflammatory disease initiated by complex polymicrobial subgingival biofilm. Periodontal pathogens are implicated in the development of a number of inflammatory pathologies at remote organ sites, including brain tissue where AD occurs. The objective of this review is to present the relationship and possible mechanistic links between periodontal disease and AD.
