Abstract:

Objective This study aims to use cone beam CT(CBCT) analyses bone tissue remodeling following Bio-oss applied labial bone cracking for guided bone regeneration and to provide imaging guidance for guided bone regeneration techniques. Methods A total of 12 patients with labial bone cracking needed dental implant. Bio-oss was given after dental implant was implanted in the body to ensure 2 mm of labial bone thickness or more after surgery. The labial bone tissue thickness and reconstruction situations were evaluated at 6, 12, and 24 months postoperative using CBCT. Results Biooss bone particles existed, and clear boundaries with autologous bone tissue were observed after 6 months. The bone tissue was irregularly shaped. After 12 months, Bio-oss bone particles with surrounding bone tissue had no obvious boundaries. However, the whole Bio-oss bone tissue showed a high-density image. No obvious cortical bone-spongy bone boundaries were observed. Labial bone thickness reduced by 35.12%. Twenty-four months after implant surgery, unclear boundaries were observed between Bio-oss bone and autologous bone. Distinct cortical bone-spongy bone boundaries also existed. The labial bone thickness reduced by 36.73%. Conclusion Bone tissue changes mainly occurred within 12 months in Bio-oss bone application implant surgery. Labial bone thickness reduced by 35.12%, and normal cortical-cancellous bone.
