Research progress on detection methods of infected root canals microbial

Abstract:

Pulpitis and apical periodontitis are mainly of mixed infection of anaerobic bacteria infection, one of the most important reason of clinical failed root canal therapy is the continuous infected state of root canal. Clone library, nucleic acid hybridization, 16S rDNA fingerprint and other molecular biological techniques are commonly used to detect the bacteria composition and function. This review presents the molecular methods applied in infectious root canal.
