Abstract:

Stem cells bank is a repository that collects, preserves and provides stem cells with multi-lineage differentiation. It is used for stem cells transplantation and called“life bank”. Tooth derived cells are readily accessible and provide an easy and minimally invasive way to obtain and store cells for future use that simple alter to harvest stem cells from other tissues. Deciduous tooth exfoliation is a basic physiological process. Obtaining stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth(SHED) is simple and convenient, with little or no trauma. SHED could be needed to treat future injuries or ailments as a new kind of seed cells. Furthermore, using ones own stem cells poses few, if any, risks for immune reactions or the potential disease from donor cells. This review includes the research progress in banking stem cells from SHED and the technique details of it.

Key words: stem cells bank, mesenchymal stem cell, seed cell, cryopreservation, cell differentiation
