Research progress on psychological factors in the adult orthodontic treatment

Abstract: Psychological factors of adult during orthodontic treatment are becoming one of the hot spots in the orthodontic research areas. The adult mental status and psychological changes during orthodontic treatment are interested by the researchers. The psychological characteristics and its influencing factors are decided by multi-factors. To full understand the patients′ attitude and enhance the psychological counseling during the treatment can promote the harmony between doctors and patients and can improve the therapeutic result as well. In this article, the relationship between psychological factors and its effect of the adult orthodontic treatment are reviewed.
