Research progress on root canal configuration of mandibular anterior teeth

Abstract: Most mandibular anterior teeth are single root with single root canal, but a large morphological divergence on the root canal systems still exists. Extra roots or root canals if not detected are a major reason for the failure of root canal treatment. This paper reviews the research progress on the root canal configuration of mandibular anterior teeth in recent years, analyzes the characteristics of mandibular anterior root canal morphology and its relationship with the outcome of root canal treatment, and provides few suggestions to provide reference for clinical treatments.
