Application research of antibacterial nano -drug on root canal disinfection

Abstract: Residual infection in root canal is considered to be the primary failure factor of root canal therapy. Pathogens in root canal have a strong tolerance and resistance to various antimicrobial agents through forming biofilms and other complex mechanisms, so the existing root canal disinfection measures fail to eliminate pathogens in root canal. Antibacterial nano-drug is one of frontier fields of science and technology in the recent years, and it is an effective way to solve the problems of drug tolerance and resistance. Due to its unique properties, such as small size effect and surface effect, antibacterial nano-drug has the strong permeability and antibacterial ability which brings new hope to achieve the ideal effect of root canal disinfection. This article reviewed the application research of antibacterial nano-drug on root canal disinfection.
