Abstract: Enterococcus faecalis(E.faecalis) is most frequent isolated from teeth with failed endodontic treatment. Biofilm-formation is one of the most important pathogenic mechanisms in post-treatment teeth. This review discussed recent advances in knowledge about the isolation and identification of E.faecalis and the factors that influence biofilm-formation.

Key words: Enterococcus faecalis, biofilm, root canal
