Clinical application of macrostomia with multiple skinflaps

Abstract: Objective This study aims to investigate the effect of the correction of macrastomia with multiple skin flaps.Methods Eight cases with multiple skin-flap skin closure were treated. The ring structure of musculus orbicularis oris were reconstructed. In addition, the functional muscle trimming of the major zygomatic, buccinator, and other mimetic muscles were executed. Results All of the eight cases achieved satisfactory static and dynamic results.Conclusion The method for maccrostomia correction with multiple skin flaps can achieve an aesthetic oral commissure effect.
