Application of biochemical markers of bone turnover in the field of periodontolog

Abstract: The alveolar bone continuously carries on conversion. In this process a number of metabolites are known as biochemical markers of bone turnover, and these markers play an important role in the detection of periodontal tissue status, assessment of therapeutic effect and evaluation of prognosis and so on. The review summarized bone formation markers and bone absorption markers and their research progress of application of biochemical markers of bone turnover in the field of periodontology.
