Research progress on Streptococcus mutans adhesion mechanism

Abstract:

Streptococcus mutans(S.mutans) is one of the most important pathogens in dental caries. In recent years, the studies on the mechanism of S.mutans adhesion focused on the molecular and genetic level, laying the foundation for the further study of dental caries prevention and treatment. The paper mainly reviews mechanism of adhesion and associated regulating factors of S.mutans.
