Abstract:

The material and design of root canal post has already been well investigated. The fiber posts and resin core are thought to have a satisfied prosthetic effect. Nowadays, the research focuses on the adhesion and retention of fiber posts. Besides the research on cement, surface treatment is widely studied to enhance the interfacial bond strength. It can promote the formation of chemical and mechanical adhesion between different ingredients when surface treatment is performed. Surface treatment of fiber posts can enhance the retention of fiber posts and the adhesion between fiber posts and resin cores. The purpose of this article was to review different surface treatments of fiber posts.

Key words: root canal fiber posts, surface treatment, bond strength
