The myoepithelial cell markers in salivary gland tumors

Abstract:

There are a large part of salivary gland tumors with myoepithelial cell(MEC) differentiation. Owing to the confusion in identifying the MEC and its variants, immunohistochemical staining was often used to make differential diagnosis. Therefore, biomarkers for MEC have drawn considerable attention recently. This review will summarize the development of the myoepithelial markers in salivary gland tumors.
