Abstract:

Dentin hypersensitivity is a prevalent dental issue. Traditional treatments like fluoride varnishes and anti-sensitivity toothpastes offer limited relief. Recently, laser-assisted bonding agents have gained attention as an innovative treatment. Lasers modify dentin microstructure to seal tubules and reduce sensitivity, while bonding agents create a protective barrier. Combining lasers with bonding agents enhances treatment effectiveness, prolongs effects, and reduces relapse by improving permeability and bond strength. Although promising in the short term, the long-term effects and safety of this combined therapy need further study. This review seeks to synthesize recent advancements in laser, bonding agents and their combined use in the treatments for dentin hypersensitivity, examining their potential applications and significance within the field of dentistry, while also serving as a reference for future research endeavors and clinical practice.

Key words: dentin hypersensitivity, bonding agents, laser, desensitizers, combined treatment
