Effects of desmosome and signal pathways in the pathogenesis of pemphigus

Abstract:

Pemphigus is a blistering mucocutaneous disease which is mainly caused by autoantibodies against desmoglein（Dsg）-1 and Dsg-3. Desmosome maintains the integrity of epithelium. And destroying of the structure or function of desmosome plays a well-known important role in pemphigus pathogenesis. We will summarize desmosome and its structure, pemphigus signal pathways and pemphigus in this article. And hope that we can find new breakthroughs in pemphigus treatment.
