Telescopic crown is a flexible and convenient retention mode which is widely applied in patients with periodontal disease, as well as in occlusal reconstruction, restoration of dentition defect with most tooth missed, and congenital dentition defect. Telescopic crowns are also used as retainers or combined application with other retainers. Telescopic crowns can transfer the pressure along the long axis of the abutment teeth and connect the abutments into a whole. As a consequence it leads to a good retention forces, better standing for greater masticatory pressure and higher masticatory efficiency than ordinary removable denture. At the same time it can be used as periodontal splint for loosen teeth involved in periodontal disease. At present, the satisfaction and long-term success rates of telescopic crown have been confirmed, but the problems of retention force of outer crown decreased and abutment tooth loose out of occlusal trauma still exist. In this article, the angle and the height of inner crown, buffer zone, material properties, production processes and methods of the telescopic crown retainer are discussed and elaborated in order to provide some references for the design and choosing of the telescopic crown retainer.

In the physiological states, demineralization and remineralization of enamel is in the dynamic balance. When the environment changes, the balance can be broken. Demineralization not only led to morphological changes( such as opaque spot), but also the initial of caries. We should take effective measures to block this process, so that the direction of balance toword the remineralization. In the last decades, fluoride are widely used as an effective topical agent for the prevention of caries by promoting enamel remineralization. But the side -effects of fluoride can limiting its application. Recently, it has been founded that milk and cheese have the properties of anticariogenic, which attributed to the casein. Its tryptic digestion product of phosphopeptides(CPP) have the ability to bind amorphous calcium phosphate(ACP). When the phosphopeptides appling to the surface of teeth, this can delive ring the calcium and phosphate ions, and enhances remineralization, prevents demineralization and reduces caries development. In this review, the structure and the source of CPP, the blend of CPP and ACP, the properties of enhances remineralization and prevents demineralization, the current evidence supporting of CPP-ACP, the interaction of CPP-ACP with fluoride, and the influence of the subsequent resin adhesion are in details.

Self -ligating brackets have developed rapidly and represent the development orientation of straight wire appliance. These bracket systems have a built-in mechanism to close off the edgewise slot, which avoid the need for elastomerics or steel ties. There are two types of self-ligating brackets. One is labeled as active that presses against the archwire, the other is labeled as passive that does not actively press against the archwire. Self-ligating systems were widely used in orthodontic treatment. Because self-ligating brackets make the operate easier, reduce the chair-side time and produce lower friction by obviating ligation. This paper summarized the current studies about the choice of orthodontic force, the treatment time, the treatment efficiency, the control of teeth position, the perception of comfort and the oral hygiene of self-ligating brackets orthodontic treatment. We hope to provide theoretical basis for orthodontic clinical treatment.

In the therapeutic process of combined diabetic oral and maxillofacial surgery, tolerance ability of patients for narcotic side effects and surgical injury become weak. Postoperative wound is also hard to healing. If there is improper surgery or omissions in nursing, patients will have a series of complication and sequelae, leading to low success rate of surgery and even disability or death. Due to these reasons, based on analyzing pathology of the diabetic, this paper summarizes and assesses the risk of surgery in oral and maxillofacial, and discusses measures for prevention in the perioperative period.

As the development of the conservative treatment, the resin-bonded bridge is a well-accepted clinical treatment to replace missing teeth, because of less tooth preparation, fewer working hours and lower cost. Recent clinical studies showed 2-unit cantilevered resin-boned bridges(CRBB) can reduce the interabutment stress and retainer debonding. Abutment selection, retention form and retainer design, metal surface treatment and luting cement are the keys to avoid the failure of CRBB. Two databases, Pubmed and China National Knowledge Infrastrudure were used to search the literatures of CRBB and investigate the effection of above factors on the longevity of CRBB, which provide the information for the clinical application of CRBB.
