A review of cleaning methods for removable denture

Abstract:

In the 21st century, with China stepping in an aging society, the number of old people wearing removable dentures increased rapidly. The unique physical and chemical properties of removable denture materials and the peculiar oral environment often lead to oral diseases. Therefore, doctors and patients should draw more attention to denture cleaning. A correct method of denture cleaning plays a significant role in protecting oral supporting tissues. This review has introduced several methods, effectiveness evaluation, application status and prospect in the future of removable denture cleaning. The review aimed to guide doctors and patients to find out an efficient way of denture cleaning in order to reduce oral diseases.
