A concept of returning to the therapeutic nature in treatment and restoration of the edentulous cases

Abstract:

The edentulous jaw is one of the most difficult prosthodontic cases. To cure and to rehabilitate should be the two core management principles, determined by the complexity and particularity of this kind of cases. This article sets out from the clinical difficulty and the present clinical status of edentulous case restoration, one by one analyzes and clarifies the importance of pre-restoration examination and diagnosis, clinical difficulty prediction, and how to make a scientific and rational treatment plan. Besides, a new technique called treatment denture is introduced in this article. The treatment denture is an effective pre-restoration solution for intractable edentulous cases.
