Observation of the curative effect of one-appointment root canal preparation used in pregnant women with pulpitis

Objective To investigate the curative effect of one -appointment root canal preparation used in pregnant women with pulpitis. Methods The study was retrospective study. 53 pregnant women with pulpitis were narcotized with Primacaine alone or Primacaine and Lidocaine both. One-appointment root canal preparation and Vitapex pasta was used to these patients. The normal obturation of the root canal was conducted after delivery and the evaluation by X-ray dental film was processed half a year later. Results The heal case was 46. The valid case was 6. One case was extracted the tooth with the wreckage of the root. The heal rate was 87%. The general valid rate(heal and valid case) was 98%. Conclusion Primacaine and Lidocaine are safe and effective to pregnant patient with pulpitis. One-appointment root canal preparation is worth to popularized.
