Abstract:

The secreted aspartyl proteinase(Sap)-2 is required for growth of the fungus and is a virulence factor. Moreover, Sap-2 is known to induce antibody response during Saccharomyces albicans infection. Sap-2 is involved in many aspects of pathogenic process. The origin, structure, biological characteristics, expression, influence factors, the mechanism of pathogenicity and application will be reviewed in this paper.

Key words: secreted aspartyl proteinase-2, virulence factor, Saccharomyces albicans
