Abstract:

Nuclear factor κB(NF- κB) is a ubiquitous transcription factor that governs the expression of genes encoding cytokines, chemokines, growth factors, cell adhesion molecules, and anti- apoptotic proteins. It plays an important role, especially in cancer, in the pathogenesis of many diseases. This review briefly discusses about the roles of NF- κB and its feasibility in the therapy of inflammation- associated cancer.

Key words: nuclear factor κB; inflammation; cancer, interleukin; tumor necrosis factor- α
