Abstract: Dental framework materials should have good biological and mechanical properties. Titanium alloys have good application prospects for dental prosthetic materials because of its excellent bio-mechanical properties. However, there are still some problems concerning the mechanical of pure titanium and biological properties of Ti-6Al-4V for dental removable partial denture. Therefore, it is paying great attention to study the mechanical
and biological properties of titanium alloy which may be suitable for removable partial denture. This article is a brief introduction about the preparations of the titanium alloy which may meet the requirements above, and it is also about the influencing factors to the comprehensive performance of titanium alloy, which come from the choiced adding elements and the post-processing.

Key words: dental prosthetic material, titanium alloy, mechanical property, alloy element
