Anatomic feature of root canal curvature in permanent teeth

Abstract: The instrumentation, which plays the essential role in the success of endodontic therapy, is strongly affected by root canal curvature. The existence of secondary curvature may increase the difficulty of root canal therapy. The clinician should be aware of the distribution and degree of root canal curvature in permanent teeth before choosing any instrumentation system or method. This review showed the frequency and degree of root canal curvature in human permanent teeth and provided a summary of the research results.
