Application of survey on oral health-related quality of life in orthodontic field

Abstract: Oral health-related quality of life(OHRQL) is the concept used to assess the effect of oral diseases and the prevention of those diseases on the physical, psychological and social function of patients. Orthodontic treatment may have negative impacts on the OHRQL on physical, social and psychological health. But it is generally considered that patients benefit psychologically through improved facial and dental appearance and the associated increased self-confidence. The aim of this paper was to review the literatures relating to the questionnaires
which were used to measure the dimensions of OHRQL and the research about OHRQL in orthodontic field.
