Evaluation of velopharyngeal function with magnetic resonance imaging and its progress

Abstract:

There are varieties methods to evaluate velopharyngeal function of the cleft palate patient after surgery.  Recently,research has been done to investigate the use of magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) to evaluate velopharyngeal function,because of its non-invasion,without exposure to radiation and so on. This article reviewed the use and the progress of MRI in assessing velopharyngeal function.
