Abstract:

Fixed functional appliances are commercializing and widely used in orthodontic treatments because of their merits, such as small influence on pronunciation and masticatory function, 24 hours orthopedic forces, and low compliance request. The article reviews the histories, structures, mechanism, and current applications of fixed functional appliances.
