Abstract: Objective To evaluate the outcome of one-visit apexification using mineral trioxide aggregate(MTA)in young permanent teeth. Methods Thirteen young permanent teeth with open apices on ten patients referred to our hospital for root canal treatment received an apexification procedure with MTA, and the remainder of the canals was filled with gutta-flow. Patients were recalled at every 3 months. Results All the patients had no complaint after treatment, and the periapical lesions were healed or gradually healed 6 months later. Conclusion The short-term effect of MTA in one-visit apexification treatment are good.
