Abstract: Bacteriocins are directly produced as ribosomally synthesized protein, polypeptides or precursor polypeptides. The bacteriocins produced by caries-related bacteria may be related to the colonization, adhesion and other cariogenic characters of the bacteria. This review describes the bacteriocins produced by caries-related bacteria, focusing on the reseach progress in mutacin, lactobacillin, sanguicin et al.
