A new root canal irrigant: MTAD

Abstract: Root canal irrigation, accompanying with instrument preparation, is an important procedure during root canal preparation process. Rinse solution should be able to dissolve necrotic tissue, have sterilization and bactericidal
action, and remove smear layer. This paper will introduce a new root canal irrigant: MTAD(a mixture of tetracycline isomer, acid, and detergent). It can remove smear layer effectively, have antimicrobial efficiency and less cytotoxicity, and be used securely in clinical therapy.
