Abstract:

Functional magnetic resonance imaging is an effective and non - injury technique to investigate the function of brain, which fundamental is blood oxygenation level dependent contrast. Functional magnetic resonance imaging could exactly orient and follow up real- time of changes on brain′s blood and metabolism. Applicaton of functional magnetic resonance imaging to stomatognathic system could offer a way to supply a gap of regulative relationship between central nerve system, maxillofacial muscles, occlusion and temporomandibular joint.

Key words: functional magnetic resonance imaging, stomatognathic system, central nerve system
