Association between Inter feron Regulatory Factor - 6 Gene Polymorphisms and Non - syndromic Cleft Lip and Palate

Abstract:

Many researchers have reported 10- 20 genes and loci involved in non- syndromic cleft lip and palate since 1980s. Among these, interferon regulatory factor- 6（IRF- 6）was the most valuable gene contributing to non- syndromic cleft lip and palate to date. Here，it was briefly generalized the structures，functions，and polymorphisms of IRF- 6 gene，especially progress in association of V274I mutation and non- syndromic cleft lip and palate.
