Abstract: Er.Cr.YSGG laser is a laser- powered hydrokinetic system of new generation, which is now being gradually searched and applied for curing caries. This review focuses on its work principle, safety issues of clinical applications and its abilities including cutting, etching dental hard tissuse, and cleaning smear layer.
