Application and research progress of digitization in socket shield technique

Abstract:

The socket shield technique (SST) reduces alveolar bone resorption by preserving part of the buccal root. It effectively minimizes bone resorption, promotes healthy recovery of soft and hard tissues, and enhances aesthetic outcomes to improve patient satisfaction. However, its clinical implementation faces challenges like insufficient data accuracy, difficulties in real-time tracking of shield preparation and trimming, and inaccurate pre- and post-operative evaluations. These issues urgently require support from digital technologies, which can significantly boost SST's efficiency, precision, safety, and aesthetic results. This paper aims to comprehensively analyze the application of digital technologies in SST and their effect on clinical outcomes.

对比维度导板辅助根盾技术动态导航辅助根盾技术
核心技术术前通过采集患者口腔数据,经CAD/CAM软件模拟后,据根盾修复体位置确定三维路径,再3D打印导板引导根盾制备术中依托实时导航定位追踪手术器械,无需预制导板,可根据根盾制备实际情况调整路径

制备根盾优势

1)术前定制,精准规划根盾制备路径,降低术者经验依赖;

2)流程标准化,新手易上手

1)无需额外张口度,适配口腔解剖复杂、张口受限的根盾病例;

2)可实时调整制备路径,应对复杂情况

操作局限性

1)导板占据口腔空间,不适于张口度小的患者;

2)无法术中实时修改,灵活性不佳;

3)阻碍冷却水流动,增加组织高温灼伤风险

1)术者需同时关注手术区域与导航屏幕,难度较高;

2)手术效果依赖术者熟练程度与经验

对根盾术后影响冷却效果不足增加组织灼伤风险,不利于术后愈合与根盾修复

1)无导板阻挡,冷却水流动顺畅;

2)操作熟练度不足影响根盾制备精度,影响修复效果
