Research progress on mammary analogue secretory carcinoma of salivary gland

Abstract: Mammary analogue secretory carcinoma(MASC) is a salivary gland tumor that harbors the specific E-twenty six variant gene 6-nerve nutrition tyrosine receptor kinase 3 translocation which resembles secretory carcinoma of the breast. MASC exhibits morphological features similar to other salivary gland tumors and is thus often pathologically diagnosed as acinic cell carcinoma and mucoepidermoid carcinoma. This paper reviews the clinical manifestations, pathological features, molecular characteristics, differential diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of MASC.
