Osteogenic potential of maxillary sinus membrane in the progress on sinus membrane elevation

Abstract:

Maxillary sinus membrane is a layer of connective tissue that covers the maxillary sinus wall. With the development of maxillary sinus floor elevation in implantology, the osteogenic potential of maxillary sinus membrane has been extensively investigated. However, no systematic review of the osteogenic capacity of membrane has been performed. This article aims to review the osteogenesis potential of maxillary sinus membrane in sinus lift surgery.
