Abstract:

Single-molecule detection(SMD) directly explores the essence of macro presentation by detect scale of nanometer scalar which can review every unit of the heterogeneous group and identify, classify, measurable compare its subgroups. SMD can sensitively detect small probability event or minority aim molecules of the biology system. This paper reviews total internal reflection fluorescence and applications in the life sciences.

Key words: single-molecule detection, total internal reflection fluorescence, green fluorescent protein, realtime observation
