Abstract: General specifically or selectively targeted antimicrobial peptides(STAMP) consist of a targeting peptide domain, a killing peptide domain and/or a linker peptide domain. These domains remain functionally independent and selectively kill the target bacterium. This is a review of the research progress in components of STAMP and effects of STAMP against Streptoccous mutans.

Key words: antimicrobial peptide, specifically targeted antimicrobial peptide, competence stimulating peptide, Streptococcus mutans
