Research progress on Streptococcus gordonii AtlS autolysis

Abstract:

Streptococcus gordonii(S.gordonii) AtlS autolysin plays critical roles in the formation of normal cell walls, development of biofilms, and production of autolysin. The expression of AtlS is subject to complex regulation and modulates stress tolerance, biofilm formation, and extracellular DNA release. This study introduces the expression, twocomponent systems, and related regulatory mechanisms of S.gordonii AtlS autolysis.
