Abstract:

Gingival retraction technique has been widely used in fixed prosthesis to promote its marginal adaptation, and reduce its complication. This review summarized the available evidence with respect to current methods of gingival retraction, such as mechanical, chemical, surgical, combination of the three aspects, and to provide the clinician with practical tips.

Key words: gingival retraction material, gingival retraction method, fixed prosthesis
