Abstract:

Pyodermatitis-pyostomatitis vegetans is a rare disorder characterized by pustular eruption in the oral mucosa and vegetating plaques in the skin. It is associated with inflammatory bowel disease. Because there have been only a few cases described in the published work, the condition is prone to giving erroneous impression leading to delayed or inappropriate treatment. The 34 cases described in the published work for decades were reviewed for the history, epidemiology, clinical feature, treatment and differential diagnosis.

Key words: pemphigus vegetans, pyodermatitis-pyostomatitis vegetans, inflammatory bowel disease
